In using the term sustainable social change, we refer to changes that are the fruit of
deliberate action, and not changes that occur without a clear and systematic “guiding
hand”. When sustainable social change occurs, one may observe the following:
Continuing change over time, not a temporary phenomenon.
Change in the rules of the game, not only the moves.
Changes in behavior, not only in thinking
Changes in thinking, not only in behavior
Changes has its “own life”, and does not need constant “resuscitation”
Social change causes chain reactions, beyond the intended goal of change.
At the Israeli Social Model, we believe that one of the most effective ways to
cause social change is through social replication and social export.
